The British Council has launched Spotlight Cultural Space at its office in the Diplomatic Quarter, Riyadh, a vibrant new hub designed to bring people together through the arts.

Spotlight will host a wide range of activities, from film screenings and live music to book readings, expert talks and creative workshops. The space is open and inclusive, welcoming students, professionals, and those discovering the arts for the first time.

More than a stage, Spotlight is a place for dialogue, inspiration and connection. It is where creative voices can be heard, where ideas can grow, and where communities can come together to celebrate culture.

The launch event reflected this spirit. Guests enjoyed music, coffee and conversation, with a Costa Coffee corner creating a warm community feel. HM Ambassador Neil Crompton joined the celebration for the official ribbon-cutting, while British Council Country Director Matthew Knowles and his band brought the evening to life with a live performance.

Spotlight also marks the beginning of the countdown to the British Council’s 50th anniversary in Saudi Arabia. This new space is part of our ongoing commitment to support cultural exchange, nurture creativity, and strengthen connections between the UK and Saudi Arabia.

We are excited to open our doors and invite you to be part of this journey. Whether you are an artist, a student, or simply curious to experience the power of culture, we welcome you to share your talent, your ideas and your voice at Spotlight.
