Accessibility Statement for Saudi Now
This accessibility statement applies to the website: https://saudi-now.co
This statement was prepared on 2 August 2025.
Our Commitment
We are committed to ensuring that the Saudi Now website is accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of technology or ability. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.1 AA standard, and we continue to improve the site based on user feedback and accessibility audits.
How Accessible This Website Is
The website is largely accessible, and most users should be able to:
- Navigate the site using a keyboard
- Read content with screen readers
- View videos with caption support
- Zoom in up to 300% without losing content or functionality
- Navigate using consistent structure and headings
However, we know some parts of the website are not fully accessible, including:
- Certain color combinations that may not meet contrast ratio standards
- A small number of videos may not yet have full captioning or transcripts
- Some accessibility checks require manual review and are still in progress
What We’re Doing to Improve Accessibility
We conducted an automated audit using Google Lighthouse in August 2025, which flagged:
- Incomplete contrast between text and background in specific interface elements
- A set of items that require manual testing, including screen reader compatibility and keyboard focus indicators
We are addressing these issues and working toward full compliance through:
- Updating the color palette to improve contrast
- Auditing and updating all video content for captions
- Conducting a manual accessibility review with reference to WCAG 2.1 AA
- Testing with screen readers and users with accessibility needs
