The British Council is the UK’s international organisation for cultural relations and educational opportunities, building trust and understanding between people in the UK and around the world. In Saudi Arabia, our work is guided by a Cultural and Technical Cooperation Agreement signed in 1975, and we are nearing our 50th anniversary. Under the sponsorship of the British Embassy and registered with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, we strengthen educational and cultural links between our countries and expand access to English language studies, with our teaching team licensed by the Ministry of Education.

With a presence in over 100 countries, the British Council connects the UK’s rich arts and cultural sectors to the world, drawing on expertise across architecture, design, literature, music, film, and more. Our partnership with Saudi Arabia is built on decades of collaboration and was deepened through the UK-Saudi Strategic Partnership in 2018 and the UK-Saudi Culture MoU in 2022, milestones that reflect a shared commitment to education, culture, and long-term exchange.
