Misk Art Institute is inviting Saudi artists and artists based in Saudi Arabia to apply for the fourth edition of the Prince Faisal bin Fahd Arts Hall Exhibition, centred on art as a form of interdisciplinary research.
The exhibition will run from 1 July to 1 August 2026 at Prince Faisal bin Fahd Arts Hall in Riyadh. Applications are open from 31 March to 29 April 2026, and participation is free. Since its establishment in 1985, the hall has played an important role in supporting the creative community through exhibitions and cultural programmes that have contributed to the visibility of generations of artists locally and internationally.
This year’s theme, Ways of Knowing: Art as Interdisciplinary Research, invites artists to submit works shaped by research and inquiry. Projects may engage with social, cultural, material or conceptual questions, while exploring how artistic processes can generate new forms of understanding. The open call welcomes work across a wide range of disciplines and media, including visual art, performance, sound, text, video, material practices, digital forms and multimedia approaches.
The exhibition presents art-making as a research practice and encourages submissions that engage experimentation, collaboration and reflection. It is open to Saudi nationals and Saudi residents over the age of 21. Artists may submit up to three original works, provided they have not been shown at Misk Art Institute خلال the past two years and meet the stated requirements for shipping, framing and installation.
Applications will be reviewed by the Misk Art Institute curatorial team based on visual impact, strength of concept, skill and technique, innovation, and relevance and suitability. Selected artists will have the opportunity to present their work in a professional setting, exhibit alongside artists from different backgrounds and experience levels, and potentially take part in talks or workshops at the Institute. Misk Art Institute will cover shipping and installation, while all artworks remain the property of the artists and will be returned after the exhibition. The deadline for applications is 29 April 2026.
